New Parody Album in the Works.

Posted on May 3, 2018 by admin

Our new parody album, entitled Schrodinger’s Hairball, is well underway. To spur himself to finish it in time for WorldCon, Jeff has already booked mastering sessions.

Here is is latest progress report:

“I just finished a recording session with the amazing Margaret Davis, laying down a flute track for our next parody album. Kristoph Klover helped me get the mic placed, since he’s recorded Margaret about a thousand times, and knows exactly how to capture her best. She breezed through the parts in no time. It sounds wonderful. We have just a few harmony vocals to add, and all the tracking will be done.”

Beckett Gladney is working on the cove for this crazy project and we’ll release the run order as soon as it’s settled.

Spoiler: there are three Queen songs on this one.

New Bohnhoff Parody Album in Progress

Posted on November 26, 2017 by Maya Bohnhoff

We have begun work on a new parody album, title TBD. I’m hoping to be able to post progress reports here about progress thereon.

The final lineup of songs hasn’t been decided yet, but I can tell you what we’ve got on the cooktop.

We have tracked two complete songs! Two wit:

“The Counselor” (ttto a well-known Billy Joel song). Subject matter: Counselor Troi, because, by golly, that girl deserves her own filk song. The song features the harmonica chops of the amazingly talented Beckett Gladney, who designed the album art for I Remember the Rain.

“Won’t Get Fooled Again” now also exists as a complete parody of the hard-rocking version by The Who. Our previous version was unplugged. Continue reading →

The Many Faces of Jeff & Maya

Posted on September 26, 2016 by Maya Bohnhoff

Occasionally, our faces turn up in cartoon or art form. I’m hoping to put together a gallery of these cool doodles, but because we machines and people are working hard on Mary Crowell’s new music album—Scattering Seeds on the Pomegranate Tour—I’m gonna start with this two imaginative renderings of us.

This is Jeff as Jeff Vader, God of Mixing and me (Maya) as Calliope. The magpie is there because that’s what my daughters call me. (Ooo, shiny!)

Maya - Calliope

Jeff Vader, God of Mixing

I should note that we’re shooting to release Mary’s album at Conflikt 10 in Seattle (Jan 27 – Jan 29th, 2017).
